Bruno Guimarães on the Verge of Completing Arsenal Move

Arsenal appear to be on the verge of signing Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimarães, after transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that Newcastle have accepted the Brazilian star’s departure. Mikel Arteta’s side have made strengthening their midfield a priority this summer with Guimarães identified as their primary target.

According to Romano Arsenal and Newcastle are now in direct talks over the fee with Newcastle’s previously firm stance having softened significantly. “The time for Bruno Guimarães has come. Arsenal and Newcastle are talking and it seems Newcastle have opened the door for his departure. Both sides are now negotiating the transfer fee” Romano said.

In May, June and July, Newcastle had firmly rejected the idea of selling Guimarães but the situation has now changed. Romano stated that Arsenal are confident of completing the deal with Newcastle accepting that the Brazilian will leave if an agreement on the financial terms is reached.

Mikel Arteta is looking to strengthen his midfield options, aiming to create strong competition between Martin Zubimendi, Declan Rice and Bruno Guimarães. Arsenal believe Guimarães can bring quality experience and composure to the squad especially in a season where they are defending the Premier League title and aiming for major European success.

The only remaining hurdle is for the two clubs to agree on the final fee before the player undergoes a medical and signs the official contract.
